The world was great, and the final discussion about civilization made the book worth reading. But every other sentence had the word "indefatigable", and characters were described by their head shapes using medical terminology.

John did not work for me as a character. He started off great, but descended into quoting Shakespeare while causing his own negative outcomes, making it difficult to sympathize. The point, of course, is the effect of the fictional world on a "normal" person. It's all within the context of the story which makes it difficult to point out the specific flaws, but as a whole, it didn't work for me.

The ideas presented have value, I simply felt that Huxley catered more to "culture and intellect" rather than those very ideas.
