Immediately begins with a powerful sense of melancholy and nostalgia. Perhaps an air of sadness and loss: mourning. However, the initial umph dies out rather quickly, leaving a shell of a story in its place.

I liked the writing and the unique style, but not enough to recommend the book. The ending was also lackluster. I'm sure it's all intended to be ephemeral and dreamful, perhaps surreal in a way, but it didn't work for me. It lacked emotion in spite of starting out well.
