Siddhartha is what The Alchemist and The Little Prince tried to be. It's a beautiful story about the need to endure suffering in order to appreciate the little things in life and find happiness.

It's short and sweet. It felt a bit juvenile at times, as seems to be common with this type of book, but that can be mostly overlooked. I would prefer a book with a little more depth/intricacy as well, though a lot is accomplished within such a short story.
