The beginning was slow and a little hard to follow, though that seemed to be the point.
Throughout the book, anti-war sentiment is definitely the prevailing theme, expressed both directly and indirectly. The Tralfamadorians were my favorite part. I particularly liked the discussion of time as well as the character of Kilgore Trout.
The humor (especially the consistent vulgarity) and overall approach to the book didn't really work for me. Though the story was enjoyable, and it all picked up about halfway through once more literary themes started coming up. But overall, it just didn't work for me. The biggest offender was certainly the humor.
