I liked the idea, but it just didn't work for me. I enjoyed the prose of the time period, but I wouldn't call it "poetic."

Ultimately, I think this was a piece on feminism. But the focus was on the horror aspect. It just didn't work for me, though I can imagine the more subtle messages were much better received in the time period (i.e.: being kept inside by a husband).
